Course aim
On completion of the course, the participant will be able to carry out mass determinations and weight calibrations independently, reliably and efficiently. By acquiring a greater knowledge of theoretical and practical fields, the trainee will understand and master processes in a mass laboratory and be able to improve them.
Topics
- Theory on mass metrology, mass comparators, weights, weighing procedures, influence factors and uncertainties, air buoyancy correction
- Practical work: Use of various mass comparators, carrying out weighing processes, mass determinations, discover factors influencing weighing
- Visit and tour of the Swiss national institute METAS
Duration: 5 days
